发明名称 Tree Harvester
摘要
1,188,134. Woodworking. R. M. HAHN. 1 June, 1967 [2 June, 1966], No. 25420/67. Heading B5L. A tree harvesting machine comprises a supporting frame having a guide bed 21 extending at least partially thereover, a plurality of curved stripping plates 70, 72, 74, 76 supported for movement over at least a portion of the guide bed, the plates being pivotally mounted so as to move from an opened position in which the plates are substantially spaced from each other and a closed position in which the plates form collectively a generally closed circular pattern, cutter means 132 for cutting tree trunks on the guide bed, and gripping means 130 mounted on the guide bed to hold a tree trunk during stripping of branches therefrom by the stripping plates. The supporting frame consists of a chassis having driven rear wheels 12 and steerable front wheels 15 and is formed with two C-shaped members 21 acting as guideways for rollers 56 on a carriage 50 movable by an hydraulic piston-and-cylinder device 62, 64. The stripping plates 70, 72 aie movable about a pivot 86 on the carriage by hydraulic devices 88, 89, and the stripping plates 74, 76 are movable about separate pivots 100, 101 by devices 107, 108. The plates are movable from the open position shown in Fig. 5 in which they can receive a tree trunk lifted into position by an hydraulically-actuated boom 35, to a closed position in which they either grip the trunk or are slidable relative thereto to cut branches from the trunk as the carriage is moved by the device 62, 64. The trunk is gripped during stripping of the branches between a gripping surface 134 on the frame and an edge 135 of a gripper 130 which is vertically movable by an hydraulic device 138. Adjacent the gripper is the cutter means comprising a knife 132 vertically movable by a pair of hydraulic devices 140 to cut the trunk into lengths determined by a stop 40. The cut lengths are ejected from the machine on to a rack 165 by hydraulicallyactuated bars 170. In operation, a trunk is positioned on the machine by the boom 35 with the plates 70, 72, 74, 76 in their open position and are then operated to grip the trunk. The carriage 50 is then moved so that the trunk can be gripped by the gripping means 130, 134. The plates are released from their gripping to their sliding position so that as the carriage 50 is retracted, edges 80 on the plates cut the branches from the trunk. In the rearward position of the carriage, the plates again grip the trunk and the gripping means 130, 134 is released so that the trunk can be advanced to engage the stop 40. The gripping means 130, 134 is again engaged with the trunk to hold it while a length is severed by the knife 132 and during stripping of the branches from the next length of trunk by the plates 70, 72, 74, 76. The machine is stabilized by hydraulically actuated feet 161. The hydraulic actuators for the various parts of the machine and those for driving the wheels 12 and steering the wheels 15 are controlled by an hydraulic circuit from a housing 32.
