PURPOSE: To make setting and change easy in a non-lapping region, by generating two pulse signals that are inverted in a given relation between a counter value and a pulse signal command, and allotting these pulse signals to an upper- arm and lower-arm switching elements. CONSTITUTION: An inverter 4 includes self-arc-suppressing switching elements IGBT's 401 to 406 that constitute each three-phase positive and negative arm. The IGBT's 401 to 406 are controlled by a pulse generating circuit 11 in a PWM method. In the pulse generating circuit 11, two of counters are used in each pair to generate a pulse signal including a non-lapped region directly. A pulse signal inverted in a given relation between a counter value and a pulse command value is allotted to an upper arm element, while the other pulse signal is allotted to a lower arm element. Then, a non-lapped region is set in the upper and lower arm signals made of one counter value and the other counter value proportioned using an offset. |
