<p>PURPOSE: To make a user able to continue comfortable and appropriate handwritten character input over the long period of time by arbitrarily setting the reference value of correction frequency for defining that change is generated in the characteristics of a tablet and changing the reference value. CONSTITUTION: The data of a coordinate point string inputted from a coordinate input part 1 are sent from a control part 3 through an input pad driver 11 to a character recognition part 4 and the result of recognizing a handwritten character is outputted. Thereafter, when the user corrects the result outputted in the character recognition part 4, it is judged and the information of the correction frequency is stored in the buffer 8 of the correction frequency. From the contents of the correction frequency buffer 8, the frequency of correction by the user is compared with the set reference value. At the time of being lower than the reference value, the deterioration detection of the pressure sensitive tablet of the coordinate input part 1 is started. When it is judged that the frequency of the correction by the user is gradually lowered, it is defined that the skill frequency of the user is increased and the reference value for detecting the deterioration of the tablet is changed in the inside of a correction frequency monitoring part 6.</p> |
