PURPOSE: To obtain an ink for ink jet, containing a dye or a pigment dispersed with a nonionic surfactant and specific particles and capable of broadening the restriction such as the use of a specific dispersing agent to a wider range and hardly bleeding the ink on a medium to be recorded. CONSTITUTION: This ink for ink jet contains (B) a dye or a pigment dispersed with (A) a nonionic surfactant and (C) particles capable of assuming cationic surfaces. In the component (C), the average particle diameter is preferably 0.005-0.5μm and the concentration is preferably 1-4wt.%. The component (C) mainly comprises a silicon oxide. In the component (B), the average particle diameter is preferably 0.1-3μm and the concentration is preferably 0.05-15wt.%. In the component (A), e.g. a compound of the formula [R<1> is H, a 1-30C alkyl or an aliphatic group; (1) and (n) are each 3-150; (m) is, 0-20] is preferably used. |
