PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent to be used in combination with a graft and capable of expanding in the radial direction without shortening by making the stent comprise a plurality of cylindrical elements interconnected with each other so as to be aligned on a longitudinal axis and a plurality of connecting elements for interconnecting the cylindrical elements. SOLUTION: A stent 10 comprises a plurality of cylindrical rings 12 separate from each other at an interval but close enough to form means for surely attaching a graft to a portion to be treated. Rings 12 are interconnected with each other via connecting members 14 to form meandering shapes, namely undulating patterns each having a series of mountains 16 and valleys 18. A hook type mounting element 20 is provided to the first end 22 of the stent 10 for the engagement with an aortic wall, and the graft is mounted to the second end 24. Stent 10 is made of stainless steel by chemical etching, laser cutting or the like. The hook 20 and the stent 10 are formed individually, and the hook 20 is mounted to the stent 10 by welding or brazing.
