FIELD: rail track construction. SUBSTANCE: machine is used to fasten track rails to wooden sleepers by spikes. Mounted inside spike driver is working cylinder with internal striker which strikes the tail end of head piece installed in lower part of working cylinder. Attached to its upper part is casing which contains power cylinder with piston and accumulation chamber which through controlled valve is connected with above-striker space of working cylinder, and through another valve - with rodless space of power cylinder. After accumulation chamber acquires pressure needed for driving a spike by 1-2 blows, controlled valve opens and striker is forced down under compressed air pressure inflicting blows on tail-end of head-piece which drives spike into sleeper.
