PTERYGIUM TREATMENT METHOD

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: method involves raising a conjunctiva graft over the pterygium body prior to excision of the pterygium so that the pterygium base is directed towards the corner of the eye. After excision the defect is covered with the graft. Its limbal edge is wrapped inside, and U-shaped vertical sutures are applied for fixation. EFFECT: improved cosmetic result; relapse prevented by formation of own conjunctiva barrier.
