Qualitative and quantitative determn. of an analyte in a sample, comprises addn. of the analyte (or a deriv. of the analyte) to the sample in at least that concn. which achieves a max. signal in the concn.-signal curve. Also claimed is a kit for carrying out the above process, comprising: (a) an immunoreagent or a receptor suitable for the analyte; (b) an analyte (or a deriv. of the analyte) in an amt. suitable for setting the equivalence point, and (c) an agent suitable for detecting the analyte-receptor complex or analyte-immunoreagent complex.
