Movable patient lifting and handling device

The movable patient lifting and handling device has a main frame (1) which can be parked securely in position, a lifting device (2) and an extension arm (3) which carries the load. The lifting device and the arm are connected to the frame by a rotatable column (4) with the arm having a joint in it. In order to prevent the apparatus from tipping over a safety device (5) which is fixed to the column can be connected to a bath side or other object to share the load placed on the column. The safety device can be rotated about the column and locked in position at variable heights.
