Lubricating oil feed to crankshaft big end bearings

The big end bearings (27,28) on a crankshaft are supplied with lubricating oil via compensating bores in the journals and crank pins, forming an inner connection for the oil feed. The oil is fed from an adjacent journal (3,30,31), via at least one direct bore (7,8), to at least one compensation bore (5) in the crank rim (2,20) and then to the big end bearing. Pref. two intersecting bores are formed in the journals and crank pins of the crankshaft. They may be used for passing the lubricating oil via the compensation bore to the big end bearing.
