<p>The pipe has fixed walls (11,12,18,19) which form a rectangular or square-section combustion chamber. It has a variable-position assembly (1) at its outlet end, made from mobile panels, which allow the outlet section for hot gases from the combustion chamber to be modified. The assembly comprises at least one flat front panel (13) with its forward end able to turn about a pivot (24) on a fixed wall (12), an intermediate curved panel (14) in the shape of a section of a cylinder, and a rear flat panel (15) pivoted on an axis (23) at the rear of the intermediate panel. The intermediate curved panel is articulated about an axis (22), and the three panels are actuated by a common drive system (31-33) in the form of power cylinders, e.g. electrically-driven screw cylinders. The articulated panels have cooling channels through which a coolant fluid is circulated, and have balancing springs between the curved panel and each of the flat panels.</p> |
