PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition suitable as a base film for video tapes, etc., having a few voids, excellent evenness, slipperiness, shaving resistance, etc., by blending a polyester with two kinds of polystyrene particles having specific thermal decomposition temperatures and specific particle diameters. CONSTITUTION:A polyester comprising a bifunctional acid component (e.g., terephthalic acid) consisting essentially of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and one or more glycol components (e.g., ethylene glycol) is blended with (A) 0.001-2wt.%, preferably 0.005-1wt.% crosslinked polystyrene particles having 0.1-0.6mum, preferably 0.25-0.5mum m average particle diameter and >=380 deg.C thermal decomposition temperature and (B) 0.001-2wt.%, preferably 0.005-1wt.% crosslinked polystyrene particles having 0.6-2mum, preferably 0.6-1.5mum average particle diameter and >=380 deg.C thermal decomposition temperature. |
