<p>The invention relates to a control system for a continuously variable gearbox for motor vehicle, in which the drive control is influenced by signals from the driver, the vehicle, the gearbox and the engine in respect of the vehicle, conditions of use and driver comfort, the ajustment of the gearbox being automatically controlled via an accelerator pedal signal (a), an engine speed signal (b), where appropriate a brake signal (f) and others. The invention has devices for improving the characteristics of the continuously variable gearbox with regard to acceleration capability, driving performance, braking capability and general ride comfort. By means of applied engine control during the acceleration phase, rapid attainment of maximum performance is achieved. An automatic transmission blocking/limiting device ensures that after braking the engine braking effect is maintained until the accelerator pedal is depressed. An instantaneously retrievable program is available for sports driving. <IMAGE></p> |
