EXHAUST GAS FILTER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To provide an exhaust gas filter eliminated from cracks due to thermal shock by enhancing the strength of the exhaust gas filter, and its production method. CONSTITUTION: This exhaust gas filter has ceramic grid walls consisting of ceramics and the ceramic grid wall 8 is made to have a relation of Lb/La>1.1, wherein La is the max. pore diameter in its inside and Lb is the max. pore diameter in the surface. Also, a pore forming powder agent which softens at >=120 deg.C is added in a mixing and kneading process and a drying process is performed near the temp. at which the pore forming powder agent softens.
