PURPOSE: To improve moisture-absorption characteristics and its durability and to better comfortableness in wearing by packing a specific water-insoluble polymer into the hollow part of a hollow fiber in which microgroups exist in a communicating state in the hollow part. CONSTITUTION: A water-insoluble polymer containing a main repeating unit of the formula (X is H or a 1-4C alkyl; Y is H, a 1-4C alkyl or a COOM; Z is H or a 1-4C alkyl; M is H or a metal) is packed into and fixed to a hollow part of a hollow fiber having at least 20% hollowness in which microgroups as removal traces of a polymer in the longer direction of the fiber exist in a communicating state. A fiber for clothing and non-clothing (a product used at a part utilizing water) excellent in physical properties such as fiber strength, heat resistance, light resistance, fastness to dyeing and wear resistance is obtained. |
