摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a high-strength steel cord excellent in corrosive fatigue resistance to be used as a reinforcing material for rubber articles. CONSTITUTION: A rubber-reinforcing steel cord wire material having >=0.70wt.% in carbon content is drawn into a steel wire having 0.10-0.40mm in diameter and >=3,000N/mm<2> in tensile strength; plural number of these steel wires are then stranded into the objective steel cord, which satisfies the relationship: (R1 /R0 )&times;100<100 (R0 is the radius of helical curvature of the steel wire with a helical form as a result of unstranding the steel cord; R1 is the radius of helical curvature after dissolving and removing the surface layer on the helical inside portion of the steel wire). Because of reduced residual tensile stress in the helical inside surface layer of the steel wire, the corrosive fatigue resistance of this steel cord is improved, leading to improving the durability of the rubber articles reinforced with the steel cords and to be used under corrosive circumstances, also improving both the lightweightness and general durability of such rubber articles.
