Pull handle on vehicle door lock

The door lock assembly with an outer pull handle (8) is for a motor vehicle. The handle bridges over a shallow depression (1) in the skin of the door and is free at one end (10) and hinged to the door at the other end (9). There is a rectangular catch (7) which has two rows of teeth facing outward and which engage in a toothed groove in the end of the handle. The catch is mounted on the end of a rod (6) the other end of which is fastened to the end (5) of a lever (4) connected to a door latch operating mechanism.
