The system involves using a displacement body (403) rammed vertically into place at a point on the drainage line. The displacement body has a penetrating inner channel for the reception of drainage material (401). The tip of the displacement body, once inserted, is opened or knocked off. The displacement body is then withdrawn whilst the drainage material from the inner channel and the tip remain below the ground.
