PURPOSE: To obtain the reading precision of superior magnetic recording without gathering mold on a photosensitive material in the method for housing and storing the photosensitive material in a cartridge by regulating a thiosulfate remaining in the photosensitive material in a specified concentration range. CONSTITUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material having a transparent support is developed, desilvered, rinsed with water and/or stabilized, dried, and cased and stored in the cartridge. At that time, the thiosulfate remaining in the photosensitive material is regulated in an amount of 30-150μmol/m<2> , preferably, 40-1300μmol/m<2> , especially, 50-1000μmol/m<2> , and it is preferred that this photosensitive material has at least each one of red-, green-, and blue-sensitive layers on one side of the transparent support and on the other side the magnetic recording layer and the pH of the film is 3.5-7 when this photosensitive material is housed in the cartridge.
