<p>PURPOSE: To provide a portable terminal which has a directive antenna and can secure a communication path of high quality by scanning the direction of a base station via the antenna. CONSTITUTION: An extension slot 9 of a portable terminal main body 3 is provided with a base station direction pointing means 10 and contains a GPS antenna to recognize the present position of the portable terminal. Then the base station placement data which are recorded in a storage are taken out. A processor calculates the position of the base station that is closest to the present position of the portable terminal and notifies a terminal user of the direction of the base station in voices or an image. The characters, pictures, etc., are shown at a portable terminal display part 5, and another exclusive equipment is also available. The terminal user can easily decide the direction to move in order to enter a radio zone even when he is now outside the zone. Thus the user can use a proper communication path.</p> |
