PURPOSE: To secure an allowance of cleaning ability with reference to toner whose mean grain size distribution is <=77μm and spherical toner, and also to reduce, or prevent vibration in an image forming system by providing a rotor which is freely rotated and forming a prescribed potential difference between the rotor and a latent image carrier. CONSTITUTION: The cleaning device 10 is constituted by using the rotor 120 installed so as to come into contact with the surface of the latent image carrier 1 and so as to be freely rotated accompanying with the movement of the surface of the carrier 1 and a potential difference forming means for forming the prescribed potential difference between the rotor 120 and the latent image carrier 1. And the residual toner on the latent image carrier 1 after a transfer process is recovered by an electrostatic attraction force by the potential difference between the surface of the carrier 1 after the transfer process and the surface of the rotor 120 abutting on the surface of the carrier 1. Thus, the carrier 1 is prevented from being vibrated and also the surface of the carrier 1 is prevented from being scratched. Besides, a satisfactory cleaning effect can be obtained with reference to the toner whose mean grain size is small and the spherical toner. |
