Enriching gaseous or steam and or aerosol substance emission

The method enriches substance emissions. The emissions are gaseous or in the form of steam and/or as an aerosol from toxic substance emitting objects esp. parts of buildings or appliances or textile goods. The emissions are fed by diffusion or penetration to an adsorption layer (3). The substance is enriched by adsorption in the adsorption layer (3). The adsorption layer (3) is fixed to the surface of the toxic substance emitting object under investigation by means of an adhesive layer. The latter extends beyond all sides of the adsorption layer (3) to provide adhesion surfaces (2) for attaching to the object. The adhesive strip hermetically seals the adsorption layer (3) from the surrounding air. A device for carrying out the method has a flexible adhesive strip with a contact layer (2) provided with an adhesive coating on one side. An adsorption layer (3) is attached to one side of the contact layer (2). The adsorption layer (3) is made of a filter material of glass fibres, cellulose nitrate, plastic, aluminium oxide and/or silica gel.
