A valve comprises a body member having a passageway 11, 6 for fluid and a bore 5 in communication with the passageway receiving a stem 2 by screw engagement movably axially to prevent or permit fluid flow through the passageway 11, 6, the stem 2 being formed rearwardly of the threaded portion with an integral resilient skirt 15, the hem of which is flared in the direction of the passageway and is urged radially inwardly by the bore walls and radially outwardly by fluid. A relief valve is provided in the stem 2 which vents fluid via bore 17 to atmosphere or to passageway 6.</p> |
