POWDERY COATING MATERIAL COMPOSITION AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To produce a powdery coating material useful as a touch up coating material for side seam parts of welded cans by compounding a thermosetting resin fine powder, a powdery curing agent and a powdery additive with the surface of a thermoplastic resin powder, coating the surface therewith and further coating the surface of the compounded powder with a fine powdery additive. CONSTITUTION: The surface of a thermoplastic resin (preferably a polyamide or a polyester resin) powder having 10-50μm average particle diameter is compounded with a thermosetting resin powder such as an epoxy resin having 0.1-10μm average particle diameter and a powdery curing agent (preferably an aluminum-based chelate compound or an organic acid anhydride) and a powdery additive and coated therewith. At least a part of the compounded powder surface is further coated with a powdery additive having 0.001-10μm average particle diameter.
