PURPOSE: To provide a recording material excellent in water resistance, running properties, chemical resistance and production aptitude. CONSTITUTION: In a recording material wherein a color forming layer containing at least a substantially colorless color forming component A and a substantially colorless color forming component B reacting with the color forming component to develop a color is provided on a support, a water-soluble polymer (1) containing an amino group or an an ammonium base in its molecule and a water resistance imparting agent (2) conmposed of at least one of an epoxy compd., a blocked isocyanate compd. and a divinylsulfone compd. are added. This recording material is effective as a thermal recording material and, as the water-soluble polymer (1), modified polyvinyl alcohol containing a primary amino group or a primary ammonium base is especially pref. and the water-soluble polymer (1) and the water resistance imparting agent (2) are desirably added to a protective layer or the color forming layer. |
