摘要 PURPOSE: To allow an IC without a synchronization function to easily realize signal synchronization by conducting variable control on the basis of time information included in a compression coding signal of a reference oscillating frequency controlling decoding processing. CONSTITUTION: When an image decoding section 18 gets ready for decoding, the section 18 makes a request of a coding image signal to an image signal buffer 17 and receives the coded image signal. When a PTS is transferred from an MPEGI system analysis section 14, a value of an SCR counter section 15 is sampled and compared with a PTS prior to start of decoding. When the PTS is larger than the SCR by a prescribed count or over, a decoding rate is so fast that a frame displayed finally is displayed again for one frame period. The processing above is repeated and an error between the PTS and the SCR count value is set within a prescribed value, the decoding is started. Moreover, when the PTS is too small, a succeeding frame is aborted and a frame next to the succeeding frame is decoded. Then the image decoding section 18 uses the SCR counter as a reference time, and controlled variably by time information to take synchronization.
