PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for executing high speed recovery and restoration when a failure occurs in one of the switching nodes of a switched network, or when a link failure is not detectd. SOLUTION: This method is provided with a process for detecting a failure on a link between a first switching node and a second switching node in one of switching nodes SN1-SN9, process for transmitting a request message having a first address field and a second address field in which the address of the first switching node and the address of the second switching node are stored from this one switching node, process for retransmitting a data stream until the substitute route of the data stream is found between the two end switching nodes of the substitute route in each switching node which receives the request message, and process for assigning the data stream to this substitute route from one of those end switching nodes selected according to a preliminarily set rule after the substitute node is found, and retransmitting it on the substitute route.
