POLYMER OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a polymer optical waveguide element having low loss and high reliability in which the increase in transmission loss due to bending of a plastic optical waveguide is reduced as much as possible but enough bending property is obtd. CONSTITUTION: In a planer polymer optical waveguide having at least a core and a clad which is formed around the core and has a lower refractive index than the core, a layer having a lower refractive index than the clad layer 2 is formed between the core layer 1 and the clad layer 2. The polymer material used is a deuterated or halogenated poly(meth)acrylate or polysiloxane which is a copolymer comprising two or more kinds of repeating units.
