METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR DISCRIMINATING KIND OF VIBRATION

PURPOSE: To discriminate correctly whether vibration is caused by an earthquake or not. CONSTITUTION: An acceleration sensor S1 having a pendulum for which conductive single crystal silicon is used, for instance, is used. An output of the acceleration sensor S1 is passed through a low-pass filter 72 of which the cutoff frequency is about 10Hz and an absolute value is obtained in an absolute value circuit 73 by adding upper and lower waveforms to the output. An absolute value signal thus obtained is subjected to level discrimination by an acceleration level discriminating means 74, an output thereof is integrated by an integrating means 91 and an integration output is subjected to level discrimination by an integration level discriminating means 94. An output obtained when the integration output is at an integration discrimination level or above and the output of the acceleration sensor is at an acceleration discrimination level or above is given to an exclusive OR gate 97 at each time set beforehand by a timer and an output value of the gate is counted by a counter 98.
