摘要 PURPOSE: To regenerate carbon fluoride denaturated during operation of a fuel cell. CONSTITUTION: Fluorine quantity in discharge gas is measured in accordance with a lapse of time after starting of a fuel cell, and before accumulated fluorine quantity exceeds 30% the fluorine quantity in carbon fluoride used in manufacturing the cell, the operation of the cell is temporarily stopped, where inactive gas is supplied through electrodes to eliminate water contents, so fluorine diluted by inactive gas is then supplied to each electrode. As the temperature of the electrodes is kept at 20-30 deg.C, it is set to react with carbon fluoride, thereby carbon fluoride is regenerated.
