PURPOSE: To provide a hydrogen peroxide electrode excellent in economic effect and easy to manufacture by forming a conductor and a reactive layer including a specified metal complex on at least a part of the surface of the conductor. CONSTITUTION: A reacting layer 5 containing a phthalocyanine metal complex is formed on the partial surface 4a of a cylindrical conductor 4 formed of a conductive material, and a lead wire 3 is connected to the conductor 4 so as to guide a signal current from the conductor 4. In order that the partial surface 4a of the conductor 4 in contact with the reacting layer 5 forms an electrode sensitive part surface in the actual use as electrode, the circumference of the conductor 4 and the reacting layer 5 is covered with a cylindrical insulating outer cylinder 2 so that the other part of the conductor 1 which is not covered with the reacting layer 5 never make contact therewith. Thus, the catalytic reaction function by hydrogen peroxide and the electron leading function for leading the electrons obtained by the catalytic reaction function to the conductor constituting the electrode can be simultaneously satisfied. As the metal for the phthalocyanine metal complex, cobalt is most preferably used. |
