PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for evaluating and discriminating the faulty states of individual components of a communication network. SOLUTION: A data collecting/processing module 5 generates an abnormal state signal by collecting warning message signals from a communication network 1 and processing the signals. Then the module 5 generates a direct risk signal and an indirect risk signal based on the abnormal state signal, an external state signal, and registered reference data 7 and 11 and displays the risk signal of a faulty component by combining direct and indirect risks together as an assistance at the time of evaluating the risk related to the component. In addition, the module 5 calculates the risk signal of the sub-network of the network 1 based on the data indicating the influences of disconnection and fault on the sub-network. Moreover, the module 5 adjusts risk calculation taking various types of maintenance activities into consideration for deciding the response of the network 1 to such a maintenance activity. |
