The knife incorporates a knife handle (1) made of metal or plastics material. It has a multistage or stageless slide (2), one or more blades (3), a pen refill (4) with a tip (5) and a blade breaking-off device (6), with or without a fixing clip. One can cut with one end of the knife and write with the other. The pen refill fits in channels in the breaking-off device and in the handle. The tip of the refill is of a large enough dia. to ensure that it cannot be pushed down into the channels. A plastics cover may be provided for the writing end so that the refill does not dry out.
