Centrifugal casting mould for cast iron pipes with external heat transfer surface

Cast iron pipes are centrifugally cast using a rotating hollow cylindrical mould (1) which has a heat transfer surface for cooling by surrounding cooling water or intensively spayed cooling water, formed by profiling (6) the outer surface of the mould, such that the outside surface is enlarged beyond the standard dimension. Pref. a corrugated or ribbed profile is produced respectively by machining or by mounting segments (5) on the wall. Thermally conductive material is used for heat transfer.
