<p>A self-crimping, two-component fibre contains (A) polyhexamethylene adipamide and (B) a copolymer based on hexamethylene diammonium adipate, 5 to 25% (based on weight of (B)) of hexamethylene diammonium terephthalate and 5 to 20% of an amide of a 6-12C diacid and a diamine from hexamethylene diamine (possibly substituted by one or more 1-4C alkyls), (in which m is 1 to 4; n and n' are 0 to 4; R1 is H, CH3 or C2H5; R1 is R1 or cyclohexyl; and p is 1 to 6). Fibres are produced by co-extruding the polymers. Since they have different shrinkages on heating, crimp is developed on heating the drawn fibres. Uses are especially for stockings.</p> |
