<p>A self-contained compressed gas and open circuit breathing apparatus for diving, comprising a gas container (1), a pressure-reducing valve (4) forming a first pressure-reducing stage, one or more breathing devices (9) for the mouth and/or face, one or more medium pressure connecting tubes (11) and medium pressure coupling means (19, 20) with an end piece (20) and a coupling seal (19). The end piece (20) and coupling seal (19) include an automatic sealing position return valve and combined automatic valve opening means, and means for manually connecting and disconnecting the end piece under pressure during diving. A method for using the apparatus of the invention includes providing at least two outlets (7, 8, 13) of the valve (4) with a medium pressure coupling seal (19).</p> |
