[Also in Division B5] A foundation layer has a thin impervious layer of stainless steel or molybdenum permanently bonded thereto to form a continuous microcrenellated intermediate surface with microscopic prominences and interstices and a coating of non-stick material applied over and sintered or cured. The foundation layer may be of metal, plastics, wood or hardboard. The intermediate layer may be applied by spraying the molten metal and may be sand blasted before applying the non-stick coating which may be of polytetrafluoroethylene or tetrefluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer and may contain a filler or metal powder. A sprayed layer of non-corrosive metal, e.g. aluminium may be applied before the other layers. |
