In the case of a device for connecting a wire to a contact element or the like by deformation of clamping parts of the contact element by means of compression devices - especially compression devices of a crimping tool (20) which is arranged interchangeably in an impact press and has a crimping die (28) which carries out the deformation in a crimping position - a number of crimping dies (28), the number of which corresponds to the number of deformation regions, are arranged around a retaining opening in order to produce a plurality of deformation regions on the contact element, each of which crimping dies can be moved towards the retaining opening, into the crimping position, by means of compression jaws (46, 47) or similar devices, the compression jaws (46, 47) being movable by means of compression dies (40, 40a) which are provided at an angle with respect to them. Said compression dies (40, 40a) are arranged on both sides of a line of symmetry (M) and approximately parallel to it, with surfaces inclined at an angle with respect to the axis of symmetry (M), which surfaces engage in the movement path (44) of inclined surfaces of the compression jaws (46, 47). <IMAGE> |
