PURPOSE: To obtain a thermally shrinkable tube which does not cause cracking and is reduced in heat distortion by compounding at least two thermally shrinkable polymers having specified crystalline melting points in a specified wt. ratio. CONSTITUTION: This tube is obtd. by molding and cross-linking a compsn. which comprises at least two thermally shrinkable polymers and in which the wt. ratio of a first polymer to a second polymer is in the range of (70/30)-(95/5) and the crystalline melting point of the second polymer is higher than that of the first polymer by at least 5 deg.C. Generally, the first polymer is an ethylene copolymer having a crystalline melting point lower than 95 deg.C, and the second polymer is polyethylene or an ethylene copolymer having a crystalline melting point of 95 deg.C or higher. Cracking in the resulting product is prevented by blending the first and second polymers in such a manner that the tensile strength of the blend is 70% or higher of that of the first polymer alone. |
