PURPOSE: To select a solvent satisfying compatibility with a resin binder used for a photosensitive layer and preservability of a coating soln. (resin soln.) for forming the photosensitive layer and to obtain an org. photoreceptor excellent in productivity and durability and stably forming a satisfactory image over a long period of time even in the case of a photoreceptor with a thick photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION: The top of an electrically conductive substrate 1 is coated with a coating soln. for a photosensitive layer consisting essentially of a solvent and a resin binder and a photosensitive layer 2 is formed by drying to obtain the objective org. photoreceptor. The thickness of the photosensitive layer 2 is >=25μm, the resin binder is polycarbonate resin and the solvent is a mixture of 10-60wt.% dioxorane with a solvent having >=100mmHg satd. vapor pressure.
