PURPOSE: To produce an inexpensive titanium material combining high strength and high ductility and superplasticity at a relatively low temp. in which the contents of N, O, Fe, Ni and Cr are regulated by using oxygen equivalent value without being incorporated with expensive alloy elements such as V and Mo and Al deteriorating its workability, and furthermore, the grain size is regulated and to provide a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: This high strength titanium alloy is the one having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.8 to 2.3% Fe and <=0.05% N, and in which oxygen equivalent value, Q=[O]+2.77[N]+0.1[Fe] satisfies the range of 0.45 to 1.00, and the balance substantial Ti, having an equiaxialα+βstructure with <=20μm grain size and suitable for superplastic forming. A part of the same Fe may be substituted by Cr and/or Ni. Moreover, this titanium material can be produced by pack rolling and cold rolling.
