PURPOSE: To provide the character replacing device with which a replacing object character can be replaced with a character string selected out of plural replacing candidate character strings corresponding to a place during one time of retrieval processing. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 2 executes a sequence as a word processor 1 by controlling respective parts inside the word processor 1 according to various control programs stored in a ROM 5, executes replacing object character input processing and replacing candidate character input processing in character replacing processing, presses the input of replacing object character string data and the input of plural replacing candidate character string data, stores those data in a replacing object character memory 7a and a replacing candidate character memory 7b inside a RAM 7 and retrieves the stored replacing object character string data from a sentence memory 6 and when those data can be retrieved, the replacing object character string is selected out of plural stored replacing candidate character strings so that character replacement can be executed. |
