FIELD: automatic control in oil industry. SUBSTANCE: known method for two-position pulsed control of interface level of two media in sediment separator involves, in addition, measurement of full-stroke time of control valve in its opening and full-stroke time of same valve in its closing, calculation of length of control pulses for control valve opening and closing as part of control-valve additional full stroke in opening and closing, respectively, determination of interface upper level signal delay cancelling upon control valve opening from one control pulse, and reception of length of spaces between opening control pulses equal to this delay, determination of interface low level signal cancelling delay upon closing of control valve from one control pulse, and reception of length of spaces between closing control pulses equal to this delay; reversing control signal is shaped with length ensuring return of control valve through half the preceding stroke.
