The machine comprises a housing (1) containing a high-pressure chamber (2) which houses intermeshing drive and driven screws (3 and 4 respectively) which are intermeshed. The screws (3, 4) are securely mounted on shafts (5, 6) which are mounted in supports (7, 8) and connected by synchronising pinions (9). The chamber (2) communicates with inlet and outlet nozzles (10, 12). Chambers (18, 19) are provided in the housing (1) to allow oil to circulate and are isolated from the chamber (2) by seals. The machine is provided with means for relieving the screws (3, 4) of radial and axial stresses. In the conversion of thermal energy to mechanical energy, specific ratios are maintained between the mass m1 of condensate and the mass m2 of heat carrier, and the volumes of heat carrier during the release of thermal energy which is converted to mechanical energy. These ratios are determined by the chosen geometrical dimensions of the high-pressure chamber (2) and screws (3, 4). |
