An automatic transmission for automotive vehicle includes a hydraulic pump (4) for pressurizing fluid; a pressure regulating valve (6) for varying hydraulic pressure supplied from the hydraulic pump (4); seven friction elements (74, 34, 76, 48, 56, 58, 60) for forward driving and two friction elements (68, 70) for reverse driving activated according to spool positions of a manual valve (30), first and second shift control sections (D, E) having at least two shift valves for supplying hydraulic pressure to the friction elements selectively, and a torque pressure converting section (B) for supplying torque pressure to the first shift control section (D). |
