Narrowband cable bundle exchange method

Message and signalling information (ni,si) are transmitted from a bundle of lines (LB) in a central signalling channel (CCS) of a communication system via an ATM communication network to another communication system. The line bundles transmit information bidirectionally at a standardised transmission speed. The information is transmitted via virtual channels (VC1-34). The messages and signalling information which are transmitted in packets are processed and sent to their respective narrow band connections. The signalling information is in a form suitable for ISDN standardised central channels or communication system specific protocols.
