This procedure makes foam composites from at least two foamable streams of molten polymer having different physical and/or chemical characteristics. They are brought together in an extrusion tool, after the gas injection stage. The novel feature of this process, is the partial mixture and/or rotation of the streams before they are coextruded, in such a way as to achieve any selected pattern within the mass of the resulting composite. Also claimed is a foam composite made from two melt streams as described. |
