PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus composed of a casing, a means for continuously supplying a stock aqueous dispersion of fine polymer particles, a means for continuously supplying a polymeric acid, a stirring means and a means for discharging the aqueous dispersion and useful for the production of the subject dispersion having excellent stability of viscosity with temperature. CONSTITUTION:A casing 12 is fixed on a base 11. A side wall near the bottom of said casing 12 is provided with a feeding member 14 composed of a feeding port 13 for continuously supplying a stock aqueous dispersion of fine polymer particles and a ring-shaped tubular material 15 for continuously supplying an aqueous solution of a polymeric acid. The stock aqueous dispersion of fine polymer particles supplied from the feeding port 13 and the aqueous solution of polymeric acid supplied from the hole 16 of the ring-shaped tubular member 14 are stirred and mixed with each other with stirrers 22-26 driven by a motor 21. The aqueous dispersion of fine polymer particles adjusted to a prescribed viscosity is discharged from the casing 12 through a discharging tube 17. A stable aqueous dispersion of fine polymer particles can be prepared by the apparatus 10 having the above construction. |
