Fluoroacetanilides - with analgesic antiinflammatory, antipyretic tranquillizing and sedative activity

Fluoroacetanilides of formula: (where R1, R2 are H, alkyl (C1-C4) opt. substd. by halogen; X is O or S) active as analgesic, antipyretic, sedative, tranquillising and anti-inflammatory agents for oral, parenteral or topical administration. Prepd. by treating a fluoroaniline with appropriate acid or its anhydride or acid-chloride. The thioacetanilides are prepd. by treating the corresponding acetanilides with P2S5.
