PURPOSE: To obtain high positioning accuracy in a process for producing a magnetic head by inserting and fixing magnetic core chip to an integrally molded slider. CONSTITUTION: Jigs (8, 10, 11) are inclined by a prescribed angleθin the state of regulating the position of the slider 1 in the jigs (8, 10, 11) and inserting the core tip 4 into a core chip holding hole 3, by which the core chip 4 is pressed to the reference plane 11a of the jigs (8, 10, 11) and the slider 1 and the core chip 4 are joined.
